<!-- FH = Brownsville-Bells Funeral Homes 731-772-1551 --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Annie Wista WilliamsAnnie Wista Williams was born on April 12, 1918 in Bells, Tennessee to the parents of Olive and Arnold Williams. She grew up on a farm in Crockett County near Bells. She attended Bells High School where she graduated in 1937. She majored in English at Union University, graduating in 1941. She began her teaching career in Gadsden, Tennessee where she taught mathematics. In 1945, she returned to her home town to teach mathematics. Later in her career, she taught high school English and Latin, which she taught until her retirement. She received a MA degree in Education from Memphis State in June 1953. Sewing and traveling were two of her interests outside of teaching. She traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. Her students distinguished themselves in the areas of medicine, the military, education, government services, and diplomacy. She actively followed their careers and interests and many students kept in touch with her. She will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Joe) Williams, and several nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to: Walnut Hill Baptist Church, 1225 Walnut Hill Church Road, Bells, TN 38006.
