Annie Ruth Johnson Smith Byron, GA- Annie Ruth Johnson Smith died Saturday, March 29, 2014. Services will be held at 4:00PM on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Hardison Baptist Church, 13845 GA Hwy 42, Byron, with Rev. Rick Odum officiating. Burial will follow in Byron City Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. Born in Cordele to the late William Nathan Johnson and Elizabeth Mae Good Johnson, Mrs. Smith worked in the family business, S & S Scale Service Inc., after leaving Bibb Manufacturing Company. She was a member at Hardison Baptist Church where she taught the women's Joy Sunday School Class. Survivors include her children, Sandra Duckworth (Tommy) of Cordele, Charlotte Smith (Steve), Beverly Smith (Ricky), and Rex Smith (Kathy), all of Byron; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Morgan of Cordele. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Alexander Smith, Jr., and a brother, Carl Johnson.
