ANNIE MAEJAMES, 95 WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Annie Mae James, a long time resident of Winter Haven, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2009 at her home from natural causes at the golden age of 95. She is preceded in her homegoing by her husband of sixty-five years, Sylvester James; parents, Johnnie and Rosa Lawrence, four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Katye Lawrence, Winter Haven, FL; five sons, Artist, James (Ethel) Denmark of Yemassee, SC, Joseph (Jacqueline) Denmark of Las Vegas, NV, Presiding Elder Rev. Jerome L. (Bettye) Denmark of Orlando, FL, Reuben James of Stone Mountain, GA, Dr. Kenneth A. (Jessica) James of Winter Haven, FL; one brother, Ernest (Dorothy) Lawrence of Winter Haven, FL; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She leaves pleasant memories to a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held at Hurst Chapel A.M.E. Church in Winter Haven on March 20, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church (Hurst Chapel) with interment following at Rolling Hills Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hurst Chapel (Bryant Scholarship Fund), 875 Avenue O NE, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
