LENNOX, Annie Isabel, (Retired Toronto Board of Education) - Peacefully at Belmont House in Toronto on Monday, September 22, 2008 Annie Isabel Lennox at the age of 89. Much loved mother of Muriel of Toronto, Dawna Fitzsimmons (Bob) of Perth, Tom (Chris) of Vancouver, and Mark (Joan Schiller), of Windsor. Beloved grandmother of Lee Helkie (Jim), Brad Fitzsimmons, Katie McKinnon (Ian), Shane and Connor Lennox, Adam Lennox (mother Shirley Gaudon) and great grandmother of Blake and Jack Helkie. Dear friend of Helen Yellowlees of Toronto. Our family would like to thank, caregiver, Yolanda Browne, for the loving care she gave to our Mother, as well as the wonderful staff at Belmont House. A special thank you to Donna Locke, you touched all of our hearts. Predeceased by her brothers Keith Kidd and Harold Kidd of Sundridge. Annie was the daughter of the late Beatrice and D.R. Kidd. Annie was an academic and scholar who actually believed that, however challenging, solving puzzles was fun. Geology, literature and languages were among her passions. Some of her closest friends were in the Russian Group a cheerful band of women who tackled the study of Russian - also for fun. A librarian and mathematician, Annie began her career in a one-room schoolhouse in Chapman Valley and continued teaching throughout her lifetime in Toronto in both private and public high schools. She retired at 70. Friends may pay their respects at the MURRAY E. NEWBIGGING FUNERAL HOME, 733 Mt. Pleasant Road, Toronto, Friday, September 26th from 5 pm - 8 pm. Funeral service in the chapel Saturday, September 27th at 1 p.m. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
