Annette L. Davis BANGOR & PORTLAND -- Annette L. Davis passed away peacefully from this world on July 16, 2007. The devoted daughter of Antonio and Consiglia (Romano) Forgione was born May 25, 1916, in South Portland. Following her graduation from South Portland High School, she was employed by Community Oil Company and later in life at Soule Glass and Paint. In 1946, following his return from service, she married her beloved Pat and shared 50 years of life and love with him in a marriage that was inspiring. In their retirement years, Annette and Pat made their home with Anne, Malcolm, Patrick, and Katherine, in Bangor, a time that was a gift to them all. Annette's lifetime focus was her faith, family, and friends who became family. She had enough love and energy to bring a multitude under her protective wing. Annette will be remembered for her boundless generosity, humor, wisdom, and constancy in prayer, as well as her delicious hermits and chocolate cakes. Annette was predeceased by her husband Patrick F. Davis in 1995; and by her siblings, Anna, Dorothea, Eva, Salvatore and Lenore. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Davis Griffin and her husband Malcolm; her granddaughter Katherine; her grandson Patrick, his wife Erika; and their daughter Kate, who brought the biggest smiles of all to Mom Davis's face. Also surviving are her youngest sister, Geneva Weinsoff; her brother-in-law, Preston R. Miller; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children. In recent years, Annette's life has been enriched by the loving care of her dear friends in the Residential Care Unit at Maine Veterans Home, where she truly felt at home and at peace. She experienced the kindness of new friends in long term care who worked with CHCS Hospice nurse Lorraine Romano to bring comfort to her final days. We extend heartfelt thanks to them: Toby Atkins, M.D., who has been with Annette and her family every step of the way, and to Father Richard McLaughlin, Father Roland Nadeau, Father John Austin and Joy Hallee, who kept her bond to the Catholic Church alive and strong. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2007, at St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau celebrant and the V. Rev. Richard McLaughlin concelebrant. Interment with committal prayers will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to the family home at 26 Glencove Ave., to continue the celebration of Annette's remarkable life. Arrangements are in the care of Foley Funeral Home.
