NORTH BERWICK ; Annette Aline Therrien, 91, of Varney Crossing Nursing Center, formerly a longtime resident of Kittery, died on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Varney Crossing. Born and raised in Springvale, Maine, she was a daughter of Alfred J. and Flore (Dupuis) Therrien.She attended local schools, including St. Ignatius. Following high school, Annette worked for a time at Paris's Store, a local women's fashion store in Sanford. She then moved to Connecticut for a time, before continuing her education and living in Manhattan for many years, utilizing her skills as a nurse and her God-given compassion as a healer. As well as many years as a hospital nurse, Annette worked as a private duty nurse for many people throughout her career. Upon returning to York County and making her home in Kittery, she worked for Tri County Osteopathic Hospital in Kittery for many years. Annette was known and loved for her kindness and friendship. She was one of the original residents at Foxwell in Kittery, where she made her home until just recently, and served on its board of directors for many years.She enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing the piano and listening to her classical music. She had a love and strong connection with children. Annette is survived by her sisters, Celine and her husband, Albert Lefebvre, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Alveta Doiron, of Phoenix, Arizona; eleven nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and her beloved Bryce and Noah, her great-great-nephews. She also leaves behind special friends Evelyn New, of York Harbor, Maine, and Bea Foster, of Kittery, Maine.She was predeceased by her two brothers.Graveside services will be held in the spring at Note Dame Cemetery in Sanford.Online condolences may be made at www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S.
