PetersonLoving aunt;well known Skip's Restaurant waitress LOWELL -- Anne Theresa (Burns) Peterson, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 24, 2011, at D'Youville Senior Care Center following a brief illness.She was the beloved wife of the late Alvar Peterson.Anne was born in Lowell on April 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Redman J. and Mary Ann (Neylon) Burns. She attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1943.Anne was employed as an engineering assistant at GTE Sylvania in Woburn. Anne was a well known and loved waitress at Skip's Restaurant in Chelmsford for over 29 years.Anne enjoyed family gatherings, especially the holidays. She loved to travel to Ireland to visit family.Anne was a parishioner of the former St. Peter's Church, the former Notre Dame de Lourde's Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality, and St. Margaret's Church. Most recently, she was a communicant of St. Rita's Church.Anne is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Marie Burns of Camden, Maine.Anne was the sister of the late Rita Benjamin, Joseph Burns, Redman Burns, Austin Burns, and sister-in-law of the late Embert Benjamin, Hazel Burns, and Eleanor Burns. Burial will follow in the family lot in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH.
