Anne (Steinhauer) Miller, 65, of Pearl River and formerly of New City, died Nov. 24, 2012, at The Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City while surrounded by her family and friends.She suffered from multiple myeloma, a plasma cell cancer.She was born March 1, 1947, in the Bronx.She graduated from Lehman College and obtained a master's degree in education from New York University . She taught Spanish and English as a second language in the foreign language department at Adlai Stevenson High School in the Bronx. She spent the past 10 years retired with her beloved husband David, traveling to foreign countries and throughout the United States. Her favorite foreign travel destination was Barcelona , Spain.She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, baseball (especially the Yankees ), playing mah-jongg and spending time with her friends and family, children and grandchildren.Survivors include her husband, David Miller; two daughters, Lauren Hernandez and Rachel Miller of Brooklyn; a son-in-law, Mark Hernandez; two grandchildren, Sienna and Alexander of Wyckoff, N.J.; and a brother, Bennett Steinhauer of Ossining.Her funeral took place Nov. 27 at Temple Beth Sholom in New City, and burial followed at the New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale.
