CHELMSFORD -- Anne L. Moore, 89, a forrmer longtime Billerica resident who was active in the community, died Tuesday, July 3, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Moore.She was born in New York City, July 14, 1917, the daughter of the late Racine and Louise (Shultz) Tollaksen. She graduated from American International College in Springfield.In 1960, Mrs. Moore started the Sunshine Group for Seniors, organizing trips locally and throughout the United States, including Hawaii, and Canada. She co-organized a senior singing group called the "Mellotones". They performed for 18 years, every Wednesday at area nursing homes. They would also sing at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.She was very active in the town of Billerica where she lived for 50 years. She was a former president of Carriage Club in Billerica, a member of the Lion's, Greenwood Club, Golden Age Club, and the Grange Club, all in Billerica.She was an avid reader, and she also loved to travel.She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James T. and Karen Moore of Dracut, and Christopher G. Moore of Chelmsford; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marilyn and Frederick Murray of Sandown, N.H., Eileen and Barry Fitzgibbons of Chelmsford, and Mary Moore, also of Chelmsford; 14 loving grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
