New London - Anne Frances "Nancy" Murphy, 92, of New London, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at her home. She was born in Salem, Mass., Dec. 31, 1920, the daughter of Nicholas Tallon McNeil and Gertrude (Cook) McNeil.She was the widow of Thomas Murphy, who predeceased her on Jan. 29, 2010. They were married in Salem on Feb. 4, 1943. Mrs. Murphy was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in New London.She is survived by two sons, James Murphy of Old Saybrook, Nicholas Murphy of North Scituate, R.I.; two daughters, Mary Laanisto of Port Tobacco, Md., Anne Buschmann of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by a son, Thomas M. Murphy Jr.; brothers, James McNeil and Nicholas McNeil; and a sister, Mary G. McNeil.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. There will be a gathering from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Thomas L.
