ANNE BURKE VIERA Anne Burke, 90, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2006. Mrs. Burke spent 25 years retired in Barefoot Bay, Florida, enjoying golf and social activi ties with her husband, James Burke. She also played bridge, tennis and hosted elaborate din ner parties for friends. For thirty years prior to her retirement, Mrs. Burke was the manager of Baldwin Modern Lanes in Baldwin, NY, where her teaching style and bowling accomplishments helped make the sport a popular family activ- ity for men, women and children alike. In 1947, she co-captured the New York State womens bowling doubles championship, placed first in the all-events championship and won second place in the state singles cham pionship. Her husband, James, died in 2003. She is survived by her son, W. Brian Bush of Long Island, NY; a daughter, Andrea Kipp and her husband, Glenn of Baltimore, MD; two grandchil dren, Guy M. Kipp and his wife, Jennifer of Fanwood, NJ, and Amy Grasso and her husband, Edward of Perry Hall, MD; and six great grandchildren. One sister, Katherine Burr of Center each, NY, survives Mrs. Burke. Mrs. Burke received expert care and loving compassion from the staff at Autumn House of Viera and Health First Hos pice. Donations in her memory may be made to Autumn House, 7999 Spyglass Hill Road, Viera, FL 32940. Arrangements entrusted to Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home of Viera, and Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge. Services will be private.
