Anne Belle Fleming, 96, of LaFayette died Sunday at Van Duyn Home and Hospital following a long illness. A native and life resident of LaFayette, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Regula Schmidt Shute. Anne retired from the Syracuse Police Department in 2002 following 25 years as a Community Relations Officer. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Grant Fleming, who died in 1974. Surviving are a son, Arnold (Mary Sue) Fleming of LaFayette; a daughter, Judith A. Fleming of Columbus, OH; a brother, Howard Shute of Jamesville; a sister, Eva Palmer of LaFayette; two grandchildren, Steven Fleming and Lisa Deyo; five great -grandchildren, John, Christopher and Laura Fleming, Suzanne and Michael Deyo; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at Onondaga Valley Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in memory of Anne may be made to the General Fund at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Arrangements are under the guidance of Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., LaFayette, NY.
