Anna W. Amos, 70, of Valparaiso, Ind., and formerly of the Elizabeth, N.J., area, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Whispering Pines Health Care Center, Valparaiso. Mrs. Amos was born on Jan. 10, 1940, in Jersey City, N.J. to Henry and Mabel (Tenzi) Ruediger. Anna attended Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Valparaiso. On Jan. 21, 1985, in Maryland, Anna married Henry T. "Hank" Amos, who preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by three children, Jennifer (Matt) Vanderstar of Valparaiso, Kimberly (Mario) Navarro of Hammond, Ind., and Thomas (Darlene) Wonesky of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy (Paul) Lebow of Florida. She was also preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Stanley J. Banz; and granddaughter, Lily Rebekkah Vanderstar. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 3:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso, moellerfuneralhome.com, with Rev. Rick R.H. Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice 2401 Valley Dr, Valparaiso 46383 or Whispering Pines Health Care Center 3301 N. Calumet Ave., Valparaiso 46383.
