McCLARAN, Anna Phillips Cox. Aged seventy-nine, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 1999 at home in Youngstown, Ohio, surrounded by her family. Born February 25, 1920 to William and Wilhelmina Phillips in New York City, she moved to Iselin, New Jersey in 1922, graduated from Woodbridge High School, New Jersey in 1937, and from the Douglass College for Women (Rutgers University) in 1941. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, The Mahoning Garden Club, The Youngstown Symphony Guild, the Butler Art Museum, The Youngstown Symphony Society and Pymatuning Yatch Club. Anna is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, J. Robert McClaran, daughters Doctor Jacqueline McClaran Meakins (Jonathan) of Montreal, and Stephana McClaran Sullivan (James) of Sausalito, California. Contributions may be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown Memorial Fund, The Youngstown Area AA Innergroup or Hospice of The Valley.
