ObituaryAnna M. Hall, a resident of Shell Point entered the presence of the Lord, March 24, 2007. She had lived at Shell Point Retirement Community for the past ten years. Anna was born on November 23, 1916 in Allentown, PA. Anna, the oldest of six children, was the care taker of her siblings during the illness of her mother and after her mother's death. This was a large task for a young girl and she talked many times about this episode in her life. She loved to play basketball and was able to do this during high school even though she was "the mother" to her other siblings. After working for some years, she graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College, during which time she met her husband, Fenton DeWitte Hall. He preceded her in death February 12, 2007.After her marriage, she moved to Virginia where her husband was living and working the Newport News, Virginia shipyards. Anna worked twenty years in the civil service in Fort Monroe with the Federal Army, a job that was very meaningful and important to her. They were regular and active participants of the First Friends Church, Hampton, Virginia. With Anna's background in the field of Christian studies, she taught in the church's Sunday School. Maintaining a ministry was important to Anna and one way she found to do this at Shell Point was being involved in the Stamp Ministry with DeWitte for years. She is survived by one sibling, Paul Hilbert, of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania and his wife, Florence; four nieces, Donna Green, Lexington, Virginia; Dee Wegert, Nitro, West Virginia; Eleanor Schroder, Springfield, Tennessee and Barbara Lilburn, Georgia.A graveside service will take place in the family plot in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. She will rest by the side of her beloved husband, DeWitte Hall. A memorial service will follow at The Village Church, at Shell Point, the date to be announced. Memorial gifts may be made to The Village Church, 15100 Shell Point Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33908 for the chaplain ministry.
