<!-- FH = Sullivan-King Mortuary -->Anna Elizabeth Weisbach Faust, 94, of Anderson joined her beloved husband Carl Walter Faust in heaven on Wednesday, December 8. During her peaceful final journey, she was surrounded by her family and under the compassionate and loving care of Rainey Hospice House. Anna and her twin sister Madeline were born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 10, 1916, to Louise and Marcus Weisbach, who had emigrated from Germany. Anna's parents shared a strong faith in and devotion to Jesus Christ, which was embraced by their eight children. Anna often recalled her father placing his hand on her head and blessing her from his deathbed when she was 16, an event that deeply affected her and sealed her faith. An excellent student and athlete at Cheltenham High School in Philadelphia, Anna left school to help support the family, which moved to Dover, New Jersey, in the late 1920s. Anna and Carl were introduced by his uncle, fell in love, and married on June 29, 1940, in the Bethlehem Congregational Church in Dover, where they were active members for more than 40 years. She was given away by her oldest brother Irvin and attended by her older sister Martha. Their daughter, Donna Lee, was born just after Carl entered the Army Air Corp during World War 2. Anna worked for the U.S. Navy during wartime but returned to homemaking upon Carl's return. She was renowned as a cook and seamstress, and was active in the church as a choir member, deaconess, Sunday School teacher, and Ladies Aid Society member. Anna and Carl's second daughter Carla Ann was born in the early 1950s and Anna was blessed with two grandchildren in the 1960s upon whom she doted. Anna returned to fulltime work when Carla entered high school. First, as Bethlehem Church secretary and then as administrative assistant at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, the Headquarters of the U.S. Army Armament, Munitions & Chemical Command at that time. She was frequently honored for her exemplary skills and work ethic, first at the Protocol Office and then at the Fire Control Division of the Computer & Control Applications Branch. While working she earned her High School Equivalency Certificate, scored well on the College Entrance Examination, and took college courses until her retirement in the 1987.Anna and Carl moved to Anderson, SC, in 1995 to be near their family in Clemson, which extended with the birth of two great-grandsons. They joined Concord Baptist Church and were active members of the Keenagers until Carl's passing on July 19, 2006. Anna's life was characterized by a deep and unwavering trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which has been honored and perpetuated by her children, in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchilden.
