Anna Davis, née en 1915, conjointe de Thomas-E. Davis, mère de Irene, Paul et Pauline Angela, est décédée le 21 février 2001.
Anna Davis, 86, formerly of Ossining and Yonkers, died February 21, 2001, after a long illness, at the Home For the Aged Blind, Yonkers. She was born on February 19, 1915, in County Tyrone, Ireland to James and Mary Corey. After receiving her Nursing diploma in England, she worked in a British Army Hospital, where she met and married her husband, Thomas E. Davis. After coming to the United States in 1948, she worked as a nurse over a long career at several hospitals including Ossining Hospital and Stony Lodge, where she was a Nursing supervisor. Later, she worked at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Tarrytown, St. Joseph's Hospital and Mary the Queen, Yonkers. In 1961 she became a United States citizen, which she always thought of as one of her greatest achievements. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist, Yonkers. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Paul Soden of Pleasantville, two grandchildren, Christina Soden Sacchetti of Thornwood, Paul Soden, Jr. of Rye Brook, three great-grandchildren, Louis and Paul Sacchetti and Paul Anthony Soden III; a brother, Joseph Corey of Ireland. Her husband Thomas Davis, died in 1993. She is also predeceased by several brothers and sisters and by a daughter, Pauline Angela Davis who died in 1948, at the age of five. She will be remembered for her patient manner in caring for the sick, her devotion to family, and her great strength in dealing with Alzheimers Disease. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Innocents Church, Bedford Road, Pleasantville, on Saturday 10:30 am, February 24, 2001. Interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Ossining.
