Babin, Anna D. On the afternoon of Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the age of 91, an angel of the Lord lifted our beloved mother, Anna Mae Daigle Babin, to rest from her labors. She was born in Hope Villa on Sept. 14, 1913, to the late Sidney Augustine and the late Frances Marie Mire Daigle. Visiting was at Welsh Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Friday, May 13, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Bob Stein. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery. She is survived by five daughters and their husbands, Lydia and Jerry Watts of Albany, Ethelie and Edwin P. "Hotsie" Braud, Sybil and Leon P. Gautreau, Elaine and Keith Allen, and Gwen and Dwayne Babin, all of Gonzales; 25 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Idell Daigle, Inez Lambert and Rita Babin, all of Gonzales; three brothers, Joseph B. Daigle and Vernon Daigle, both of Gonzales, and Calvin Daigle of Lafayette; and special friend, Lucy Bourgeois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Etienne Solomon Babin; two sons, Joseph Gerald and John Mervin Babin; and two grandchildren, Wade Anthony Babin and Ronald James Heath. Her presence in this small community of Brigand will be greatly missed by all. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Paul Braud, Rodney and Randall Heath, Jerry Babin, David and Jared Gautreau . Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining grandsons.
