ALTON ; Ann L. Johnson, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, surrounded by all 10 of her children, following a period of failing health.Born June 30, 1930, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Iva (Dockham) Allison.Mrs. Johnson worked in the shoe industry for many years for both Somersworth Shoe Shop and Park Heel in Dover. She was a loyal Red Sox fan. She enjoyed making crafts for her family and playing bingo.Members of her family include her children, Nancy Robinson and her husband, Maurice, of Groveton; Patsy White and her husband, Allan, of Eliot, Maine; Bev Covill and her husband, Shad, of Berwick, Maine; Gail Lamb and her husband, Jeff, of Lebanon, Maine; Wayne Johnson and his wife, Shelly, of Lebanon, Maine; Melody Johnson of Wakefield; Penny Gagnon and her husband, Kevin, of Middleton; Steven Johnson and his wife, Lorraine, of Berwick, Maine; Valerie Lockard and her husband, Kenny, of Sanford, Maine, and Dan Johnson and his wife, Cydney, of Alton; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Heath of Lebanon, Maine, and one brother, James Allison of Virginia Beach, Va.; several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by the father of her children, Roland Johnson, and her sister, Carol Whitney.Family and friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester.
