ANN ELIZABETH TEMPLE Wife and mother is "job # 1". Nov 30, 1931 - March 16, 2010 Stuart, FL & New Buffalo, MI Ann was born in Chicago, IL to Kathleen Knox and Robert Nelson McFerran. She had one brother, Robert K. McFerran, who died in 1998. She leaves her beloved husband of 57 years, Joseph G. Temple Jr. and their daughter Dr. Linda T. Taylor and her husband Tom in Hartford, CT and sons Jim Temple in Bellingham, WA and John Temple and his wife Patricia and their two boys, Chris and Patrick, in Livermore, CO. For all of these 57 years Ann was a wonderful wife in every possible way, a confidant, very, very best friend and a splendid role model for the Temple children. She attended Evanston Township High School, the University of Colorado and Northwestern University for Nurses Training. She married Joe on June 21, 1952 in Evanston, IL and moved to Midland, MI where Joe worked for the Dow Chemical Company. As a corporate wife she subsequently lived in Boston, Philadelphia, Coral Gables, FL, Cincinnati and Kansas City, MO, with returns to Midland between each move. At all of these locations Ann enjoyed Joe's coworkers and their spouses - and "worked the crowd" at company functions sincerely, beautifully and with enthusiasm. While in Midland, Ann was the first woman Senior Warden at St Johns Episcopal Church and was President of their Alpha Guild. Other examples of her volunteer work are the Senior Care Center where she was chairman of their board, Skilled Care Center, Mobil Meals and the Mount Pleasant Home for Children with Developmental Problems. There is a picture in our New Buffalo home that says "An old fisherman lives here --with the catch of his life!". To husband, Joe, she was absolutely all of that - and more - a wife who, for him, could never, ever be improved upon - and a mother who was such a very great one for all of their children. We will all miss her so, so, so much! Plans for a family celebration of Ann's life are incomplete. Memorials by Ann's friends can be gifts to their favorite charity - no flowers, please.
