CASEY, Ann September 30, 1929 - April 14, 2012It is with deep regret that the Casey family announces the death of Ann Margaret Casey (nee Hart) who died peacefully at the Beverly Care Centre Midnapore following a lengthy illness. Ann is survived by her loving husband, J. C. Frank Casey Q.C.; by her devoted children Charles Casey and Margaret Casey, both of Calgary, and Theresa Casey (Rob Gray) of Toronto; her brother Rev. Raymond Hart of Lindsay, Ontario; sisters-in- law Catherine Hart of Toronto and Elizabeth Hart of Sturgeon Falls, ON; as well as by her Calgary nephews and nieces, Ann Marie (Don), Peter (Elsie), John (Judy), Paul, Stephen (Mary Catherine), Mary, Kathy (Craig) and Brian; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces throughout Canada, the United States and Ireland. Ann is also survived by numerous in- laws in Ireland and the United States who have been very supportive of her Calgary family, especially during her final illness. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary (nee Young) Hart of Colborne, Ontario; her sister Katherine (late Allan); her brothers Jack (late Madeline), William and Paul; and niece-in-law Ann Marie. Ann was born on September 30, 1929 and was raised in Colborne, ON. Following graduation from Colborne High School, she trained as a nurse at St. Michael's School of Nursing in Toronto, graduating in 1951. She became a specialist in OR nursing and worked at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto. Following her marriage to Frank in 1958, the couple moved to Vancouver where she worked at the St. Paul's Hospital. After her children had been raised, she regained her RN certification, trained as a psychiatric nurse and worked for some years in that capacity at Calgary's General Hospital. Ann was an avid golfer and a member of the Calgary Golf and Country. She also enjoyed playing tennis at the Glencoe Club and she was an accomplished Bridge player. Books and Classical music were constant companions. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church (5340 - 4 Street S.W., Calgary, AB) today, April 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com . The family would like to thank the staff of the Beverly Care Centre Midnapore and the staff of Signature Care in particular caregivers Irene, Ruby and Kim. In living memory of Ann Casey, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
