Ann A. Anderson of Winchendon, United Parish member; 88 WINCHENDON Ann A. (Orasmaa) Anderson, 88, a resident of the Broadview Retirement Community at 547 Central St. in Winchendon, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg, after an illness. Ann was born in Finland on February 24, 1921, a daughter of the late Kalle and Lydia (Vetoniemi) Orasmaa, and lived in Winchendon for many years. Her beloved husband, Andrew I. Anderson, died in 2007. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a housekeeper in private homes throughout the area. Ann was a longtime member of the United Parish in Winchendon and was a member of the Women's Fellowship of the Church. She was a former member of the Winchendon Garden Club and enjoyed rug hooking, knitting and cooking. Ann was known for her coffee bread, having her recipe published in the Yankee Magazine Cookbook. She was also a longtime member of the Finnish Center at Saima Park. She is survived by one son, Wayne E. Anderson of Maynard; and two daughters, Laura A. Henrickson of Rindge, New Hampshire, and Miriam "Mimi" Overman of Winchendon; and three grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews, here in the United States and in Finland. ANDERSON You are invited to attend committal prayers in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Glenallen Street, Winchendon on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2 PM. Rev. F. Calvin Miller will officiate. There are no calling hours.
