ANITA WADLIN GTON HENDERS ON January 17, 1912 October 13, 2010 Anita passed away quietly at home in Vero Beach. She was active, mentally and physically until the end. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, (The third of four children), where her father attended Dental School. The family settled in Memphis, where she grew up, graduated from Rhodes College and married Charles. "Charlie" played the trumpet and conducted his big band, playing on the roof of the Peabody Hotel and on radio around the Country Saturday nights. Having a family moved him into the Car Business, which eventually lead them back to New Orleans and then Lake Charles, Louisiana. On retirement in 1993 Anita and Charles moved to Vero Beach. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Becker and her son –in- law Bill of Vero Beach. Remaining, also, are her grandchildre n Alicia Ewing and her husband Bill, and Fran Becker and his wife, Jamie. She enjoyed many times with her great- grandchildre n Patricia Adeline Ewing, Jon Becker Ewing, Mary Alice Ewing, William Francis Becker and Henry Brooks Becker. She will be greatly missed by all her family and loving caregiver, Myrna Rohm. A graveside service with all her family present was healed at Memorial Park in Memphis, Tennessee, where she lies next to her husband Charles. paid obituary
