KELLY Andrew J., 88, on August 19, 2014 of Mahwah. Beloved husband of the late Kathryn (Murphy), father of Joseph (Karen), Andrea and Monica Fernandi (John). Beloved grandfather to Carolyn Ahearn (Ed), Colleen Kelly, Katelyn, Kelly Murphy, and Lily Fernandi and Great-Pop-Pop to E.J. and Evan Ahearn. Andrew was a resident of Mahwah for over 50 years after moving to "The Country " from Queens. He was an Insurance Underwriter for USAIG in Manhattan for 40 years where he combined his love for Airplanes with the insurance of the worlds aircraft. After his retirement he was a crossing guard for Ramsey. Andy shared his love for the outdoors by camping and hiking in the woods of the Catskills with his dear friends Herb and Anne and now joins them in the heavens. He cherished his pipe and his tobacco. Andy was also known for his wry and corny sense of humor which he entertained everyone with for decades. Andrew is predeceased by his sister, Joan Barry. He will be missed by many including his nieces and nephews. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Holy Name and usher of Immaculate Conception Church, Mahwah. He was proud to say that his father, Joseph L. Kelly was a soldier in the Great Fighting 69th Regiment in WWI. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception RC Church in Mahwah. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
