DELAND, Fla. - Andre (Andy) Emile Chalifour, 73, of DeLand, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2013, at his home after a two-year battle with prostate cancer. He was born on Feb. 26, 1940, in Manchester, N.H., and moved to DeLand in 2004. He previously resided in West Chesterfield, N.H., and owned the Putnam Insurance Agency in Brattleboro, Vt., for over 25 years. Survivors include his two sons, Zach Chalifour and his wife, Mandy, of Port Orange, and Daniel Chalifour of Swanzey, N.H.; his daughter, Judith Coffey and her husband, Dennis, of Dover, N.H.; two granddaughters, Alison and Colleen Coffey of Dover; sister Dorothee Descoteaux of Rochester, N.H.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Fernande Descoteaux of Manchester, N.H. The family also would like to issue a special thanks to extended family and friends who were by his side over the course of the most recent weeks: nieces Celeste Descoteaux, Nicole Pierce, Monique Pierce, and Lise-Marie Zanghetti; former wife Ruth Ann Chalifour; Ben Underhill; Bob and Cathy Ervin. . services: A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m. at the Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand.
