Andre E. Chalifour 1940 - 2013 Andre (Andy) Emile Chalifour, 73, of DeLand, Florida passed away peacefully on December 7, 2013 at his home after a two-year battle with prostate cancer. He was born on February 26, 1940 in Manchester, New Hampshire and moved to DeLand in 2004. He previously resided in West Chesterfield, New Hampshire and owned the Putnam Insurance Agency in Brattleboro, Vermont for over 25 years. Survivors include his two sons, Zach Chalifour and his wife Mandy of Port Orange, Florida, and Daniel Chalifour of Swanzey, New Hampshire; his daughter, Judith Coffey and her husband Dennis of Dover, New Hampshire; two granddaughters, Alison and Colleen Coffey of Dover; sister Dorothee Descoteaux of Rochester, New Hampshire; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Fernande Descoteaux of Manchester, New Hampshire. The family also would like to issue a special thanks to extended family and friends who were by his side over the course of the most recent weeks: nieces Celeste Descoteaux, Nicole Pierce, Monique Pierce, and Lise-Marie Zanghetti; former wife Ruth Ann Chalifour; Ben Underhill; Bob and Cathy Ervin. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 16th at 4:00pm at the Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand. A reception will follow at 6682 Merryvale Lane in Port Orange.
