AUGUSTA -- A Mass of Christian burial for Anaise Mercier, who died on March 13, 2006, was celebrated on Friday, March 17, 2006, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Boisvert, parochial vicar, officiating. Altar servers were Valmond and Lorraine Beaudry. Organist and soloist was Kathy Brooks.The first reading was given by Joan Adams. Taking part in the Offertory procession were Jackie Lajoie, granddaughter, and Jennifer Averill, great-granddaughter. There were representatives from Ladies of St. Anne Society, Alzheimers Care Center of Gardiner and St. Augustine Parish.Honorary pallbearers, from the Ladies of St. Anne Society, were Rita Dostie, Therese Tardiff, Gerry Grenier and Madeleine Genest.Active pallbearers, were grandsons Richard Piper and James Lajoie; great-grandson Christopher Rocque; great-grandson-in-law Dusty Averill; nephew-in-law Robert Heron; and grandson-in-law Dan Gerard.Burial was in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta, where the Rev. Boisvert offered the committal prayers.Arrangements were by Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
