LANCASTER -- Alma Louise Johnson, 89, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Garrard County Memorial Hospital. Born July 17, 1913, in Barren County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ed Jolly and Letha Cooksey Jolly. She was a teacher, homemaker and member of Lancaster Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was the widow of R.O. Johnson, a former county extension agent for Garrard County. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Arnold of Atlanta, GA; son, Dr. Marshall Johnson of Elizabethtown, KY; sister, Gladys Garmon of Glasgow, KY; brother, Robert Jolly of Bowling Green, KY; six grandchildren, Sara Hoffman of Lawrenceville, GA, Amanda Arnold of Atlanta, Jamie Hochleutner of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Dr. Marshall Johnson Jr. of Canton, GA, Missy Hiser of Cumming, GA, and Julie Naas of Erlanger, KY; and eight great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003, at Ramsey Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Barry Jeffries. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2003, at Ramsey Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Lancaster Baptist Church, 201 Richmond Street, Lancaster, KY 40444.
