Alma Jean Morris, 80, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home. Jean was a native and life-long resident of Bay County. She and her late husband, I. S. "Mickey" Morris were the owners and operators of numerous businesses in Bay County including El Laundry Land and Morris Machine and Construction Company. Jean was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved shopping and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her husband Mickey, a son, Craig Howell Morris, and a daughter, Lisa Diane Morris Redd. She was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger. Jean was loved by all, and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include her children, Carol Morris Atwell (Mike) of Panama City and Larry Morris (Sherry) of Lynn Haven; a sister, Martha Riegler of Ocala; her grandchildren, Jedidiah Redd, Ashley Morris Rosera, Amberlyn Atwell, Whitney Atwell and Michael Craig Atwell; a great-granddaughter, Presley Redd; her brother-in-law, Monroe Morris (Charla); and numerous nieces and nephews, including Dawn Riegler. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's name may be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
