ST. ALBANS -- Alma E. (Bishop) Pouliot, 90, died April 24, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. Alma was born on Aug. 19, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Melvina (LeBel) Bishop in Norridgewock, one of 11 children. After the death of her parents, she was raised in the Sacred Heart Convent in Jackman.She married Gerard J. Pouliot on Nov. 22, 1938, in Maine. Later, they moved to Connecticut, where they raised their five children. She enjoyed being a homemaker and especially crocheting. They returned to Maine in 1977 to enjoy their retirement. She was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Agnes Catholic Church in Pittsfield.She is survived by her son and his wife, Philip J. and Diane Pouliot of Windsor, Conn.; daughters Phyllis Proteau and friend Bruce Phillips of Stafford Spring, Conn., and Diane Shorham and husband Donald, of Colchester, Vt.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Pouliot Sr.; her daughter, Theresa LaBreck, her son, Gerard Jr.; sons-in-law Calvin LaBreck and Louis Proteau; and her 10 siblings. Rite of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev.
