Allan Wilson Stoddard September 20, 2011 Allan Wilson Stoddard, 77, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Raleigh, NC, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Jerome and Lucille Wilson Stoddard. As an avid sports fan, he played football, baseball, basketball, ran track and coached numerous seasons of Little League baseball. He also served in the U.S. Navy and National Guard. He retired as a telephone engineer from NYNEX after 38 years of service. He was a member of South Onondaga United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee and held many other leadership roles. He will be remembered for his quick wit, a ready smile and his love of music. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Marilyn Whitehead and Carol Taylor. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Donna Curtis Stoddard; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mike Torcasso of Raleigh, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Brian Miller of West Palm Beach, FL; his son, Allan Jerome Stoddard of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Matthew and wife Rachel Torcasso, Rebekah Torcasso, Noah Torcasso, Grace Miller and Liam Miller; his sister, Beverly Marziale; his brother, Robert Stoddard; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. in the South Onondaga United Methodist Church, followed by interment at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Navarino. The family will receive friends and family at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W.
