LOWELL -- Alice Y. (Cote) Gosselin, 94, a longtime resident of Lowell and Ormond Beach, Fla., died Thursday, March 29, at Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford, following a brief illness. She was the wife of George O. Gosselin, who died in 1999.She was born in Montreal, Aug. 9, 1912, daughter of the late Phillippe and Eugenie (Babineau) Cote.She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Lowell, and was a member of the parish's Ladies Sodality. She was also a 30-year communicant of the Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach, Fla.Before retiring, Mrs. Gosselin was employed as an accomplished seamstress at New Knit Co., formerly of Lowell, for many years.According to family members, among her many interests included being an avid reader, a wonderful homemaker, and she enjoyed crocheting lap afghans which were donated to charities, nursing homes and animal shelters.She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roland and Claudette Gosselin of Pepperell, and George and Annette Gosselin of Ormond Beach, Fla.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline and Maurice Paquette of Westford, Anita and Albert Masse of Dracut, and Jeannette and Joseph Masse of Dracut; a brother, Normand Cote of Santa Clara, Calif.; two sisters, Yvette Cote of Lowell, and Jeanne Roy of Tyngsboro.She also leaves her sisters-in-law, Elma J. Cote of Goffstown, N.H., Thelma Bedard of Hollis, N.H., Blanche Boudreau of Edgewater, Fla., Florida Brodeur of Holly Hill, Fla., Emelda Gosselin of Derby Line, Vt., and Marcelle Gosselin of Newport, Vt.; a brother-in-law, Matthew Gosselin of Burlington, Vt.; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews;She was also the sister of the late Ovila, Jules and Albert Cote, and sister-in-law of the late Theresa and Rita Cote, and Louis Roy.
