Alice Sims MADISON: Alice Sims, age 98, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in Madison. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 21, at First United Methodist Church, Madison. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel, with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund, First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 294, Madison, FL 32340.Miss Sims was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy M. Sims of Madison. She was a retired educator. Miss Sims graduated from Madison High School and Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) and did graduate work at Duke University and Columbia University. She worked with the school systems for 25 years, all but two of them in Madison County.She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Agnes Studstill, and a brother, Carl Sims, both of Madison, and several nieces and nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by a brother, Guy M. "Mac" Sims of Valdosta, Ga., and a sister, Mrs. Willie Clare Copeland of Madison.
