Alice Marie Lewis March 7, 1930 - June 4, 2011 Vass, NC - Mrs. Alice Marie Lewis, 81, of 355 Twin Ponds Lane, Vass, NC, died on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Mrs. Lewis was born in Kansas City, KS in 1930 and was the wife of the late Philip Alden Lewis and the daughter of the late William E. and Nora Ormord. She was a loving mother and homemaker. A long time resident of Norwich, She had resided in North Carolina since 2007. Mrs. Lewis was an active volunteer in the Groton Red Cross chapter for many years. An avid dollmaker, she was a member of the Connecticut chapter of the International Doll Makers Association. Mrs. Lewis is survived by three sons, Richard Allen Puetz and wife Kathy of HI; Dennis Arthur Lewis and wife Kim of Statesville, NC; Dr. Philip Alden Lewis, Jr. and wife Jacquelyn of Vass, NC; one brother William E. Ormord, Jr of MD; special niece Linda Ellen Bruce of CT; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister Jeri DeNully and one brother James E. Ormord. A Visitation will be held at Cox Memorial Funeral Home in Vass, NC Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 6 until 8 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Norwich, CT.
