MANCHESTER - Alice M. Plourde, 88, died on July 30, 2011, at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, after a period of declining health. She was born in Manchester on July 18, 1923 to the late Donat and Alma (Goudreau) Plourde. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Prior to her retirement, Miss Plourde was employed at Notre Dame Hospital for 29 years, where she worked in the kitchen. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles at the nursing home. Family members include her sister, Rita Doucette, of Manchester; her two cousins, who took care of her, Madeleine Aucoin of Henniker and Pauline Gagnon of Manchester. Miss Plourde was predeceased by three brothers, Phillipe Plourde, Cleophase Plourde, Roger Plourde, and by three sisters, Yvette Lussier and twin sisters, Cecile Plourde and Francoise Plourde. . SERVICES: A calling hour will be held Tuesday at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, 235 Myrtle St., Manchester, from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the nursing home at 11 a.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
