LUCAS, Alice Acree, 94, of the Tampa Bay area, died Friday, September 8, 2006, at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace. From a pioneer family that came into Florida at the beginning of the 1800s, Alice was born in Tiger Bay and raised in Fort Mead. Her family moved to Fort Lonesome in the early Depression years and to Tampa in the early 30s. She worked as a welder in the Tampa Shipyard during World War II and was the executive housekeeper of St. Petersburg General Hospital when she retired in the early 70s. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and her late husband, Fred. Survivors include her son, W. Mason Scott (Judy); granddaughters, Shannan Scott Aprile (Robert) and Laurie Leigh Scott Philpot (Kevin); grandson, Michael J. Scott; great-grand-sons, Hudson and Maddox Aprile; sister, Carol Acree Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family had a private celebration of her life. Global Gulf Breeze Mortuary
