Mother Alice Jackson State Mother Alice Jackson, 97, a minister of the Church of Christ Written in Heaven No.1 and the Woodville Church, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at Tabernacle Church of Christ Written in Heaven, 12425 Blue Star Highway in Gretna, with burial at Southside Cemetery in Tallahassee.Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday at Strong and Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139). Mother Alice Jackson was born Aug. 17, 1908, in Wakulla County to Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall. She was educated in the Wakulla County school system. One of the founders of the Church of Christ Written in Heaven Inc., she served as state mother for the Tallahassee Diocese for more than five decades.Survivors include three daughters, Pauline Williams (and husband George), Lillie Mae Cofield (and husband Arthur) and Susie Williams; a son, James Jackson (and wife Lucinda), all of Tallahassee; four grandchildren whom she raised, Kenny Smith (and wife Gerald), Cheryl Davis, Craig Davis and Kimberly Brown (and husband Ted); 65 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren; 75 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elder George Jackson; and three daughters.
