ALICE I. BAKER of HarpursvilleAlice I. Baker, 47, Harpursville, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 15, 2001 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by a sister and her father. She is survived by her loving husband, Tim, Harpursville; three daughters, Andrea Baker and her special friend, Jim Hoover, Nineveh, Kimberly and Nicole Baker, both at home; her mother, Mary Adams, Nineveh; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walt and Lydia Adams, Sidney, Fred and Johanna Adams, Apple Valley, Calif.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bruce Baker, Endwell, Charles and Meg Baker, Germantown, Md., Judy Knowles, Binghamton; a very special niece and husband, Joanne and Marshall Murphy, Seneca, S.C.; as well as several other nieces and nephews; special friends, Cindy Ahner, Prisilla Ksiozyk and Sharon Snow; also an exceptional young man, the son she never had, Jim Braman, Windsor. She had a love of life, laughter, family, friends, knitting and her beloved animals, especially her cat, Midnight. Her laughter was contagious and easily infecting. She was loved by all that knew her. Her life was far too short, but the memories she made will be everlasting. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. With her daughter, Andrea, she operated a cleaning service throughout the area. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Harpursville Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Rowe, Pastor of her church will officiate. Burial will be in Perch Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, 69-71 Maple Street, Harpursville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions in memory of Alice may be made to: Hospice Program or Lourdes Cancer Care Center, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905
