Alice E. (Connolly) Clark, 70, of Plainville, formerly of Bristol, passed away after a brief illness, surrounded by her family and friends, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013.Born in Norwood, Mass., on Nov. 7, 1942, she was the only child of the late Thomas and Alice (Lunt) Connolly. Raised in Norwood, she attended local schools and, upon her marriage, moved to Connecticut where she raised her three adored children. She resided in New Britain and Bristol, prior to moving to Plainville 10 years ago. An office manager, she retired from Clean Harbors in Bristol. A devoted mother, Alice enjoyed even more becoming a grandmother, helping to care for and raise her six beloved grandchildren. She made a hobby of crocheting, and enjoyed card games, BINGO, and countless fun times spent with her best friends, Margie Curran, Carol Fletcher and Rich Jackson. She will be greatly missed, leaving many cherished memories.She is survived by her children, Donald Clark and his wife, Cassandra, of Plainville, Daniel Clark and his wife, Rebecca, of Plainville and Trisha Kowalski and her husband, Michael, of Bristol; and her six loving grandchildren, Kayla, Kristian, Alicesyn, Jonathan, Carl and Skylar. Alice held a special place in heart for her feline companions, leaving her two cats, "Um" and "London".Funeral services in celebration of Alice's life were held June 7, at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Alice's love for cats may be remembered with contributions to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
