Alice D. Cummings January 16, 1923 - July 28, 2012 Killingly - Alice D. Cummings, 89, formerly of Primrose Village and Plainfield passed away Saturday at Westview Health Care in Attawaugan. She was born January 16, 1923 in Wauregan a daughter of the late Alfred and Eugenie (Roch) Messier and had lived in Central Village for many years before moving to Dayville in 1995. Mrs. Cummings was a communicant of St. James Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Mrs. Cummings enjoyed and was an excellent cook. She was the wife of William H. Cummings, Sr. who died August 15, 1986. She leaves two sons, William H. Cummings, Jr. of Plainfield, Gerard Cummings of Dayville, a stepson Michael Cummings of Summerfield, FL; three daughters Adrienne Gagnon of Brooklyn, Doris Pullen of North Carolina and Belinda Warrender of Wauregan. 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Richard and Raymond Mazzarella, also five brothers and one sister. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:15 A.M. at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in All Hallows Church, Moosup. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday 5-8 P.M.
