ALFRED THOMAS WILLIAMS, IIIAlfred Thomas Williams, III, 70, of Pace was called home to Jesus on Wednesday, May 14, 2008.Mr. Williams was a native of Philadelphia, PA., and had resided in the Pace area for the past 48 years. He was retired from Air Products with 41 years of service. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Floridatown Baptist Church.Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred T. Williams and Alice Williams.Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 47 years, Johnie Mae Williams of Pace; two daughters, Sandra Ann (Bruce) Davis of Hillsboro, MO., and Sharon Christine (Robert) Powers of St. Peters, MO.; a sister, Sandy (Gene) Rogers of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., five grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Lewis Funeral Home in Pace, with Rev. Joel Hunt and Rev. Joe Dubose officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Barrancas National Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Monday, May 19, 2008, at the Lewis Funeral Home in Pace.The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Floridatown Baptist Church Building Fund.The family wishes to express their loving appreciation to Covenant Hospice for all the care given to Mr. Williams during his time of illness.Friends may send condolences and share fond memories with the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.net.
