Albert R. 'Bob' St. Onge founder of Dracut supply co., WWII vet; 85 DRACUT Albert R. "Bob" St. Onge, 85, a resident of Dracut, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Gertrude J. (Trudel) St. Onge with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on April 21, 2007. Born In Lowell, on August 17, 1922, he was a son of the late Ubald and Beatrice (Tessier) St. Onge. Bob was a WWII Navy veteran having served aboard the USS New Yorker, and then transferred to the USS Missouri. He served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations having been aboard the USS Missouri when the Japanese signed the documents of unconditional surrender. He founded St. Onge Supply in Dracut in 1954, and enjoyed all his time spent working in his store and helping his customers. Bob enjoyed spending time during the winters in Kissimmee, FL where he belonged to a local golf league. He was a member of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters, Denise Willett and her husband, Bob of Dracut, Gloria Crane and her husband, Bill of Pelham, NH, Suzanne Frechette and her husband, Russell of Pelham, NH, Linda Higgins and her husband, Gary of Lowell; a son, David St. Onge and his wife, Sharon of Lowell; four sisters, Yvonne Troisi of Tewksbury, Rita Underwood, Maria Hodge and Jeannette Delisle, all of Lowell; 12 grandchildren, Jason Willett, Erik Willett and his wife Renee, Tina Crane, William Crane, Rebecca Frechette, Meghan Frechette, Alicia Higgins, Jeffrey Higgins, Cailin Higgins, Scott St. Onge, Keith St. Onge, and Marc St. Onge; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Willett and Sydney Owens; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Florence Desrochers and Hector St. Onge. ST. ONGE of Dracut, Albert R. "Bob" St. Onge, age 85, beloved husband of Gertrude J. (Trudel) St. Onge, died Feb.13, 2008. Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth St., from 2 until 4 PM and 7 until 9 PM on Friday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9 AM in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
