ELIE, Albert Jean Albert Jean Elie died unexpectedly, but peacefully in Ottawa on Saturday, June 5th, 2010. A man of much vim and vigor, kindness and love he touched those who knew him with his zest for life and love of family. He was born in Gonaive, Haiti in 1932. At the age of 27 after earning his degree in Architecture, he left on scholarship to complete his Masters in Town Planning at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. It was there that he met his wife Molly. They were married for 16 years and shared four children together. They moved to Toronto where Albert worked in town planning for the province. In 1973 he accepted a promotion with Parks Canada that moved the family to Ottawa where they settled. Later in life, Albert established his own commercial Real Estate brokerage under the logo - Dedication, Competence, Integrity. He was committed to his work and was still actively working. Albert had a passion for politics, history and nature that ensured conversations were always stimulating. He will be dearly missed by his 4 children, Christophe, Robin, Rachelle and Rebecca, their mother Molly, their spouses Kristina, Satoko, David and Damani respectively, his 5 grandchildren, Dante, Darius, Ukiah, Dezryn and Lila, his sister Lucienne currently living in Haiti, his brother Emile living in New York as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert's spirit can be seen walking along the Ottawa River parkway each morning between 9 and 10. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor), Ottawa, on Friday, June 11 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. The Funeral Service will also be held in the Chapel on McLeod, Saturday, June 12 at 12 noon, followed by a reception to celebrate Albert's life and to share stories, and memories while enjoying music, food and refreshments at the Earl House, Valley Drive, Wakefield, QC at 2pm.
