Albert B. Al Casey, age 84, of Brockton died Sunday evening, Dec. 26, 2010, at his home surrounded by his children after a difficult struggle with leukemia. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Marion (Uhrig) Casey. Born and raised in Allston, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Gregory) Casey and was the last survivor of their 14 children. Since 1967, he had been a resident of Brockton. During World War II, Albert served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. Before his retirement, he was a custodian in the Brockton School Department and previously Al was a machinist at the Joseph Beal Company in Boston. In his free time, Al enjoyed casino gambling, trips to the dog track and watching Boston pro sport teams. A family man, he was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren. Al is survived by his four children, Janice Bergen of Middleboro, Carol Morrow of Orlando, Fla., Robert and Michael Casey, both of Brockton. He also leaves one granddaughter, Denise McGonagle; three great-grandchildren, Kendra, Jeremy and Jacob; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leo, John Jr., Edward, Robert, Lawrence, James, Paul, Arthur and Charles Casey, Dorothy Paone, Mary Bowman, Jenny Casey and Margaret Casey. Al will be sorely missed by his devoted dog, Nikki. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Monday at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors in Calvary Cemetery.
