MILLER, Agnes Walker Young (nee Campbell)January 21, 1925 - March 23, 2014Lovingly remembered by her husband Emil, sons Grant (Cathie) and Ian (Colleen), and grand- children Lynden, Mark, Mercedes and Michael. Agnes was born in Ladysmith, BC and raised in Glasgow, Scotland after her parents Jock and Polly returned to their native land to help their families deal with the Great Depression and later, WW II. Agnes completed school and later business college in Glasgow before returning to Canada, settling in Britannia Beach, BC, where she met Emil. They married and moved to Vancouver in 1960. There Agnes worked for Rae-Son Shoes, retiring as the company's Comptroller. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, various parents' auxiliaries, and later as an executive member of the South Vancouver Senior's Network. Agnes was also a long-term volunteer with Sunday Line, and a parishioner of Fraserview Assembly, later Harvest City Church, where she had a large network of close friends. She loved keeping up to date on the various members of her extended family, books, music, square dancing and tending to her roses in her garden. The family would like to thank Dr. Duncan Etches and all the staff and volunteers at Amherst Private Hospital, who took such wonderful care of Agnes in her later years. A memorial service to celebrate Agnes' life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Harvest City Church, 7416 Victoria Drive, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
