TUSCALOOSA Agnes Machree Davis, age 89, of Tuscaloosa, died Sept. 21, 2007, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Jerry Deasy officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.Her husband, Hubert H. "Broad" Davis, daughter, Joan Davis Gladden, son, Joel H. Davis, grandson, George B. (Barney) Azar, Jr., and great granddaughter, Elyse St. John-Shirley, preceded her in death.Survivors include her daughters, Celeste Azar (George) of Montgomery, Charlotte Marlowe of Tuscaloosa, Sheen Jones (Harry) of Columbia, S.C. and Mary Grace Raybon (Jim) of Woodstock, Ga.; brother, James H. McArthur, Sr. of Mobile; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.Mrs. Davis was a native of Pickens County. She was married to "Broad" Davis for 50 years. She worked at Marie's Knit Center and was a dedicated volunteer for Hospice of West Alabama. She loved ballroom dancing.Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bill Azar, Joe Azar, Zack Azar, Gerry Marlowe, Scott Davis, Charles Gladden, Jeff Gladden, Stephen Jones and Kyle Raybon.Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Susan Shirley, Melinda Redick, Celeste Dill, Kathlyne Jones, and Emily Raybon, and the staff of Forest Manor.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, or St. Francis University Parish.
