Agnes was well known and touched the lives of so many people, to some she was known as Boss, others by Aggie, but to most Kokum. She was one of the first women in Canada to be elected to council in 1947 and worked at the Fort Qu'Appelle Indian Hospital for over 25 years. After her retirement in 1977, she remained active in the community sitting on various boards as an Elder and at other levels including serving as a member of the First Nations Network on Disabilities working committee for 17 years. A celebration of Agnes' life will begin Monday, February 27, 2012 with a wake in the Chief Ben Pasqua Memorial Hall, Pasqua First Nation at 4:00 p.m. with Sister Bernadette Fiest officiating. A while ago my sister Cathie had a dream where our grandfather Tony came to her and told her to tell grandma to hurry up, they were waiting and there was going to be a big dance when she got there............ Today grandma and grandpa are dancing together again in heaven with uncle Ken, Clayton Jr. and Rachel along with all the other angels. Online condolences may be made at www.tubmanfh.com . In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to the Saskatchewan First Nations Network on Disabilities, 100-103A Packham Ave., Saskatoon, SK S7N 4K4 or to Echo Lodge Nursing Home, Box 1719, Fort Qu'Appelle SK, S0G 1S0 in Agnes' name.
