Agnes Casey, conjointe de James Casey, fille de James et Winifred, mère de Shawn et Bill, est décédée à l'âge de 93 ans.
CASEY, Agnes MaryAgnes, at age 93, wife of the late James Casey, died in Ladner, BC. She was born in Edmonton, the daughter of James and Winifred Hague. Agnes was a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Halifax for 30 years. She was educated in Edmonton Schools, Mount St. Vincent University, Simmons College, Boston and the Harvard School of Public Health, receiving an M. Sc., Agnes worked as a dietitian at St. Elizabeth Hospital, North Sydney, N. S. and as a hospital administrator at the old Halifax Infirmary and Seton Hospital Jasper. After withdrawing from the Congregation she married James Casey and adopted two sons, Shawn and Bill, who both survive her. She was Director of Nutrition Services at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and at St. Paul's in Vancouver. Her teaching career included instructor at the University of Toronto, Associate Professor at Mount St. Vincent and in the High School Academy of the old Mount St. Vincent in Halifax. She will be remembered by family and friends as a woman always eager to help others through difficult times and to lend words and actions of encouragement to those who have suffered. She is survived by her two sons and several nieces and nephews in her extended family. Prayers will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014, 7:00-9:00 pm at Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart Chapel, 3900 Arthur Drive, Ladner, BC followed by a reception in the Reception Centre at Delta Funeral Home.Delta Funeral Home (604) 946-6040
