Arthur D. Harrington, Teacher in Carmel School District for over 35 years, died on Thursday, August 24, 2006. Arthur was born in Somerset, MA in 1930 to Phoebe and Arthur D. Harrington. He was a graduate of Fitchburg State Teachers Collage and taught in Massachusetts before entering the Army in 1954 he served in Korea until 1956 and resumed his teaching career in East Hartford, CT. He came to Carmel in 1958 and received his Masters Degree from Fairfield University. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Peterson Harrington and their three children, Mark Harrington of Charlotte, NC. Maura and her husband Eric Jones of Stuyvesant Falls, NY and Gerald and Sue Harrington of Glenmont, NY and four granddaughters, Erin, Megan, Jennifer and Lauren, who died in 1995. He is also survived by three sisters and one brother Jean Farrell of MA, Ann M. Schruender of VA, Rose Magnuson of CA and Charles Harrington of CA and nieces and nephews. Many Thanks to Putnam Home Health Care, who and their Nurses and Aides made it possible for Arthur to come home for his final days. Visitation will be held Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Cargain Funeral Home, Carmel. Funeral Mass Tuesday, 10 am, St. James the Apostle Church, Carmel. Private Cremation to Follow.
