ANNHALE, 88Homemaker LAKELAND - Ann (Zeitung) Hale, 88, died April 10, 2012 from COPD. She was born in Meriden, CT, and lived for 31 years in Storrs, CT prior to moving with her husband, Nathan Hale to Lakeland in 1988. She is survived by her husband of 65 years. No eulogy could do her justice nor is one needed for those who were privileged to know her, because to know her was to love her. Her kindness and unselfishness, plus her cheerfulness in her mounting physical handicap during these last four years were an inspiration to all. She received the Connecticut American Cancer Society Courage Award in 1985. Ann was a 1946 graduate of Wheaton College located in Norton, MA. She was active and a life member of the Windham Community Hospital Auxiliary, was a volunteer in the Hospital Reach For Recovery Program, the Cub Scouts, 4H, and coached a Mansfield Little League Baseball Team. She was a sports fan and an avid golfer. Ann was a member of the Storrs Congregational Church and an associate member of the United Methodist Church in Lakeland. She is survived by her daughter Mary Hale; sons Nathan S. (Ann) Hale, Jr., Jonathan B. (Kathy) Hale, Dr. Daniel S. (Linda) Hale; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her funeral service is scheduled at the Potter Funeral Home in Willimantic, CT. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 115 S. Missouri Ave., Ste. 500, Lakeland, FL 33815. Lanier Funeral Home.
